St. Thomas Aquinas wide receiver Corey Holmes has made a verbal commitment to the University of Notre Dame. He won two FHSAA Class 7A state titles with the Raiders in 2010 and 2012 and was part of their national championship team in 2010.
Holmes had 28 receptions for 511 yards and five touchdowns in his junior year with the school in 2012. He had four catches for 167 yards and an 80-yard touchdown in the Class 7A championship game against Tallahassee-Lincoln at the Citrus Bowl in Orlando.
He saw limited time on the varsity squad in his first two years. Holmes had one reception for 17 yards as a freshman and had three catches for 22 yards along with a touchdown as a sophomore.
