Indians Shut Down Marlins

The Marlins organization celebrated the tenth anniversary of the 2003 World Series champions prior to the game, however Miami fell to the Cleveland Indians 2-0 on Sunday at Marlins Park. It was the 13th time that the Fish were shut out this season as they were held to four hits in the game.
Miami(43-67) starting pitcher Nathan Eovaldi allowed one run on seven hits in seven innings as he dropped to 2-2 this season. Indians pitcher Scott Kazmir improved to 7-4 as he struck out seven and gave up no runs on two hits in six innings.
In the top of the second, Yan Gomes reached base on an infield hit with one out and advanced to third on a double to left field by Mark Reynolds. Lonnie Chisenhall knocked in Gomes on a single to right field as Cleveland(62-49) led 1-0.
The Tribe added an additional run in the eight inning against Chad Qualls. Mike Aviles led off with a double to deep left-center field. He then went to third on a sacrifice bunt by Jason Kipnis. After Ryan Raburn struck out, Aviles scored on a Michael Brantley base hit to center field.
