Marlins Win In 10 Innings

Both teams were held scoreless in the first nine innings until the Miami Marlins broke the tie in the tenth inning as they beat the Kansas City Royals 1-0 on Tuesday night at Kauffman Stadium. The Fish have won two of their last ten games.
In the tenth inning, Miami(45-73) mounted a rally to take the lead against Kelvin Herrera. Jake Marisnick led off as he was hit by a pitch and advanced to second when Jeff Mathis struck out. Christian Yelich followed with a single through the right side for Marisnick to score.
Marlins starting pitcher Jose Fernandez allowed no runs on three hits and struck out six batters in seven innings. Kansas City(62-55) starter Bruce Chen had the same pitching line as he gave no runs on three hits in seven innings. Steve Cishek shut the door on the Royals during the tenth inning for his 25th save this season.
