640 Sports WMEN-AM no longer has Sal Licata as the New York Yankees pregame studio host as his position has been taken over by program director Marc Eisenberg for the remainder of the 2013 season. Licata had been announcing a 30-minute segment from New York City since late April prior to the start of the New York Yankees Radio Network with John Sterling and Susyn Waldman.
Licata continues as a co-host for the Full Count program on MLB.com and as a sports anchor at SNY in New York City. He has also co-hosted shows called The Wheelhouse, Loud Mouths and Daily News Live on SNY. Licata was once the afternoon producer for the Mike Francesa Show on Sports Radio 66 WFAN-AM and its television simulcast on YES Network until he was let go in June 2010. He started his broadcasting career as an intern at WFAN.
Eisenberg, who has been the program director at 640 Sports since November 2012, was the late morning host at the station from May until late July earlier this year. He is expected to host a one-hour Sunday morning NFL show this fall as he did in 2012. He was a temporary morning co-host at WMEN from early June 2012 until early August 2012. Eisenberg had previous stints as a producer and sports co-host at Sports Radio 560 WQAM-AM and 790 The Ticket WAXY-AM in Miami.
