Real Madrid Wins International Champions Cup

Real Madrid captured the first annual International Champions Cup with a 3-1 victory over Chelsea at Sun Life Stadium in Miami on Wednesday night. Both teams won two games in the previous rounds to arrive in the championship game.
Real Madrid has won a record nine European championships, 32 La Liga titles and 18 Copa Del Rey tournaments. Chelsea has mustered four top-level England titles, seven F.A. Cups and took the trophy at the 2012 UEFA Champions League.
The powerhouse from Spain took the lead during the 14th minute when defender Marcelo Vieira came up on the play and put a left-foot shot on the left side from 15 yards out by goalkeeper Petr Cech to the far post for a 1-0 lead.
The Blues responded quickly just three minutes later to tie game. Romelu Lukaku sent a lead pass over the Real defense and Ramires chipped a ball over the head of goalkeeper Iker Casillas from 18 yards away.
Los Blancos regained the lead in the 31st minute. Forward Cristiano Ronaldo was fouled on the left side from 25 yards out and was given a direct kick. He converted it for a goal as he curved the ball with his right foot over the Chelsea wall and beyond Cech's reach into the top left corner of the net.
Ronaldo would pick up his second goal of the game as he scored the only tally of the second half in the 57th minute as he redirected a head ball from seven yards out off a cross by midfielder Isco Alcaron.
