Two defending FHSAA state champions will face each other at Vince Zappone Field on Friday night as the American Heritage Patriots take on the Chaminade-Madonna Lions. The Patriots won the Class 5A title, their fourth in the last five years. while the Lions took the Class 3A crown last season.
American Heritage(3-1) lost in their home opener to Carol City 34-16. The Patriots bounced back with three victories over St. Joseph Regional 20-17, Miramar 11-3 and Coconut Creek 40-0.
Running backs Tyler Jones and Lavelton Williams look to share the rushing attempts from the backfield. Wide receivers Tyler March, Douglas Emilien and tight end Beau Johnson can get pass receptions from quarterback Edwin Rhodes.

After a season opening home loss to Deerfield Beach 13-10, Chaminade-Madonna(3-1) picked up wins over Muscle Shoals 28-21, Blanche Ely 38-0 and Northeast 48-0.
