Marlins Down Mets

The Miami Marlins played in their first game in three days and topped the New York Mets 5-3 at Citi Field. The Marlins had both their contest on Sunday in Pittsburgh and their game in New York on Monday postponed due to inclement weather.
Miami(57-86) got a 2-0 lead during the top of the fourth. Lewis Brinson doubled to deep center field which scored Brian Anderson and Derek Dietrich.
New York(65-78) cut the lead down to 2-1 in the sixth inning. Michael Conforto smacked a solo home run to left-center field on a 2-0 pitch.
The Marlins got some more space in the eighth inning to go ahead 3-1. J.T. Riddle connected on a solo homer to right field on a 2-1 count.
In the ninth inning, Brian Anderson knocked in J.T. Realmuto with a triple to the right-field wall. Dietrich followed by hitting a double down the right-field line for Anderson to cross the plate and gave the Fish a 5-1 margin.
The Mets had one last chance in the bottom of the ninth. They were one strike away from the loss when Kevin Plawecki walloped a two-run homer to left field on a 1-2 pitch that scored Austin Jackson in front of him.
