American Heritage Routs Monsignor Pace

     The American Heritage Stallions easily handled the Monsignor Pace Spartans 42-7 on Friday night at The Corral in Delray Beach. Both schools are contending in different classifications for the FHSAA playoffs.
     Things did not start off well for Monsignor Pace(3-1) on their first possession as their quarterback Jaheem Joseph was sacked in the end zone for a safety at the 8:35 mark.
     American Heritage(3-0) wide receiver Conner Hindsley caught an 11-yard pass on the right side of the end zone from quarterback Zachary Bohannon to make it 9-0 with 56 seconds left in the first quarter.
     The Stallions compiled 17 points in the second quarter. Deion Small returned a punt 54 yards for a score at 11:37. Bohannon connected a 97-yard touchdown pass to Hindsley behind the defense on the right sideline with 3:22 to go in the first half.
     The Spartans broke the shutout with 1:22 remaining in the quarter. Running back Tyrone Douglas Jr. raced through the left side of the line and scored from 23 yards away. The Stallions capped the first half as Lucas Matias kicked a 25-yard field goal with no time left for a 26-7 lead.
     In the third quarter, American Heritage scored on their first offensive drive Running back Dallis Small finished it with a touchdown run through the middle from 10 yards out at 9:16.
     Running back Steve Barrett, a transfer from Glades Central, sprinted into the left side of the line and scored an eight-yard touchdown at the 2:57 mark. He reached the end zone on a two-point conversion run to give them a 42-7 margin along with a running clock for the remainder of the contest.
