The Cincinnati Reds got a 4-2 victory over the Miami Marlins at Marlins Park on Thursday night. The Reds are the final opponent at home for the Marlins this season.
Cincinnati(66-88) moved a to two-run lead in the third inning. Scooter Gennett doubled in Billy Hamilton and Scott Schebler with a shot into left field.
Gennett drove the other runs for the Reds in the contest during the top of the seventh. He connected with a two-run homer to right field on a 1-0 pitch which brought in Jose Peraza.
Miami(59-93) created two runs in the bottom of the eighth. J.T. Realmuto knocked in Miguel Rojas with a single into left. Peter O'Brien later singled to right field and Realmuto crossed the plate.
