Former Miami Heat player Tony Smith has joined Marquette University as their new basketball radio game analyst. He did play four years of college basketball at Marquette.
Smith was acquired by the Miami Heat on February 22, 1996 in a trade with the Phoenix Suns. He helped the Heat make the 1995-96 NBA Playoffs. They were sweep by the Chicago Bulls 3-0 in the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals.
He was drafted by the Los Angeles Lakers in the 1990 NBA Draft. He helped the club win the 1991 Western Conference title and reach the NBA Finals against the Chicago Bulls. He stayed with the Lakers until 1995 and then signed with the Phoenix Suns. Following his one season with Miami, Smith had stints with the Charlotte Hornets, Milwaukee Bucks and Atlanta Hawks.
