The Atlantic Eagles head to Boca Raton and face the Spanish River Sharks on Thursday night. The Eagles look to continue their stranglehold of District 10 in Class 8A.
Atlantic(4-0, 1-0) went on the road last week and won against district rival Park Vista 21-7. The Eagles had victories earlier this season against Palm Beach Central, Dwyer and Pahokee. They have outscored their opponents 100-41 this year.
The Eagles are well known for their defense versus the opposition. Defensive lineman Henry Bryant anchors the front seven while defensive backs Kael Williams and Javone Jackson can break up passes downfield. Kalani Ilimaleoata is at quarterback and he intends to find wide receivers Kam Williams, Tyler Burke and Tyrese Blue on passing attempts.
Spanish River(0-5, 0-2) will try to get their first win of the season. The Sharks have losses against Cardinal Newman, Olympic Heights, Suncoast, Boca Raton and Lake Worth. They have been outscored this season 196-52.
The Sharks will rely on quarterback Connor Tribby to dictate their offense. He is expected to connect passes to wide receivers Benny Alfonso and Blake Goldberg down the field.
