Nationals Blow Lead To Marlins

     The Washington Nationals were defeated by the Miami Marlins 8-5 at Marlins Park on Monday night. It began the final homestand for the Fish this season. The Marlins have won three of their last ten contests.
     Washington(76-75) scored first in the top of the second. Anthony Rendon was able to score on a Brian Anderson fielding error during a Spencer Kieboom at-bat.
     The Nationals got more distance in the third inning with three more runs. Victor Robles hit a solo home run to left-center field on a 1-0 count. Rendon later lined a two-run homer to left field on a 1-2 pitch and Park Vista High School grad Trea Turner scored in front of him on the play.
     Miami(59-91) broke the shutout in the bottom of the fifth. Starlin Castro doubled to deep left field which brought home Austin Dean and Magneuris Sierra to make it 4-2.
     The Marlins eventually took the lead in the sixth. Sierra knocked in Miguel Rojas with a single into right-center field. Dean later scored on a balk for a Miami 5-4 lead.
     The Nats got to tie the game in the top of the seventh. Adam Eaton scored on a fielder's choice to second by Turner.
     The bottom of the frame saw Miami bounce back. Brinson singled to left-center field to bring home Brian Anderson. Rojas made it 7-5 on a sacrifice fly into center for J.T. Realmuto to score. Castro capped the victory during the eighth on a solo home run to left-center field on a 1-0 pitch.
