The Miami Marlins defeated the Toronto Blue Jays 6-3 on Saturday night at Marlins Park. Both teams will play the final game of the series on Sunday.
The Marlins picked up their first run in the opening inning. Brian Anderson hit a sacrifice fly to right field for J.T. Riddle to score. J.T. Realmuto added a solo home run to center field on a 2-2 pitch during the third to make it 2-0.
Toronto(61-74) got on the scoreboard in the top of the fourth. Randall Grichuk popped a sacrifice fly to left which scored Devon Travis.
Miami(54-82) placed four runs in the fifth inning to move ahead 6-1. Anderson walked with the bases loaded and it brought home Wei-Yin Chen. Prado followed and cleared the bases with a three-run double to deep right-center field. Riddle, Realmuto and Anderson all were able to score on the play.
The Blue Jays cut the deficit down to three runs in the ninth. Justin Smoak ripped a two-run homer to right field on a 1-0 count.
