Manny Navarro and Andre Fernandez have joined The Athletic Miami. Both worked with the Miami Herald up until last week.
Navarro was with the Miami Herald for 23 years. He recently was the Miami Heat beat writer for that newspaper. He had a long tenure covering high school sports in Dade County and Broward County. He has reported on the Miami Heat in recent years. Navarro will be writing mostly about the University of Miami athletic program for The Athletic Miami.
Fernandez was the lead high school sports beat reporter at the Miami Herald until several months ago. He recently has worked covering the Miami Marlins and Miami Dolphins. Fernandez will be the Miami Marlins writer for The Athletic Miami.
