The Deerfield Beach Bucks take on the Monarch Knights on Friday night. The contest will determine who will capture the District 12 title in Class 8A.
Deerfield Beach(5-3, 2-0) comes off a 28-7 loss to St. Thomas Aquinas last week. It snapped a streak where they won five straight games. Quarterback Michael Pratt intends to find wide receivers Bryce Gowdy, Deajaun McDougle, Alex Henningham and Xavier Restrepo down the field on passing attempts. Running back Jaylan Knighton will get many opportunities to advance the ball in their rushing attack.
Monarch(6-2, 1-1) have not played a game in the last two weeks. They fell to district foe Boca Raton 38-14 in their last contest. The Knights will put an emphasis on their passing game. Quarterback Peter Zamora can connect passes to wide receivers Brady Brauner, Jaeden Alexis, Jaheim Carr and Travanti Keitt. Running backs Jerell Mash and Tyrese Carey will share the rushing attempts.
