Redskins Hold Off Dolphins

The Miami Dolphins lost to the Washington Redskins 17-16 on Sunday at Hard Rock Stadium. It was the first game for the Dolphins in the past two weeks due to a bye.
In the second quarter, Washington(1-5) got up 7-0 at the 11:34 mark. Quarterback Case Keenum found wide receiver Terry McLaurin on a 25-yard touchdown pass. The Fins got a 39-yard field goal from Jason Sanders with 1:07 left in the first half and they trailed 7-3.
The Redskins struck with the same combination again as McLaurin caught a 33-yard pass from Keenum at 9:42 of the third quarter. Dustin Hopkins booted a 21-yard field goal with 4:15 to go in the third for a 17-3 lead.
Miami(1-4) finally reached the end zone at the 10:56 mark of the fourth. Running back Kalen Ballage rushed up the middle from one yard away.
The Dolphins made it 17-16 with 10 seconds remaining in the final quarter. Quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick connected an 11-yard strike to wide receiver DeVante Parker. Miami failed on a two-point conversion pass from Fitzpatrick to running back Kenyan Drake, which would have given them the victory.
