The St. Thomas Aquinas Raiders travel to Jacksonville and face the Mandarin Mustangs on Friday night in a clash between two large-school programs. The contest was agreed on between both schools just a couple of weeks for more games on their schedules.
St. Thomas Aquinas(4-0) has been dominant in their first four games of the season as they have outscored their opponents 166-38. STA has victories over De La Salle 24-14, South Plantation 61-0, Miramar 36-0 and Carol City 45-24. The Raiders will rely on quarterback Zion Turner and he can throw the ball to wide receivers Marcus Rosemy, The'Andris Freeman and Jahvante Royal. Running back Jaedon Henry is expected to get most of the carries from the backfield.
Mandarin(3-2) is the defending FHSAA Class 8A champions as they beat Columbus 37-35 in the title game at Camping World Stadium in Orlando. The team has had a target on them for the entire 2019 season. They were able to clobber Nease 42-3 last week at home. Quarterback Carson Beck leads the offense with running backs Cameron Daniels and Martranius Mack getting the rushing attempts.
