Hayes, a Boston native, played for the Florida Panthers for two seasons. He was in 125 contests and compiled 30 goals along with 23 assists. Hayes was traded by the Panthers to the Boston Bruins on July 1, 2015 and participated there for two campaigns.

Jimmy Hayes Tribute On Saturday
There will be a pregame tribute, nameplate jerseys and a moment of silence for former Florida Panthers and Boston Bruins right wing Jimmy Hayes when both teams face each other on Saturday night at TD Garden in Boston. Both clubs coincidentally are playing each other tonight at FLA Live Arena. It will be the Bruins only appearance in South Florida during the 2021-22 season.
