Phillies Shut Down Marlins

     The Philadelphia Phillies blanked the Miami Marlins 5-0 at loanDepot park on Friday night. The Marlins were shut out for the 14th time this season. The Phillies will end up with  a winning record ina regular season for the first time since 2011.  
     Philadelphia(82-78) compiled three runs during the top of the third. Odubel Herrera knocked in Andrew Knapp on a base hit into center field. Two batters later, Bryce Harper doubled to center for Ranger Suarez to score. Gregorius later hit a sacrifice fly to right field which brought in Herrera. 
     The Phillies made it 4-0 in the fifth inning. Harper blasted a solo home run over the left-field fence on a 2-1 pitch for his 35th homer of the year. 
     Miami(65-95) gave up another run in the top of the ninth. Matt Vierling came up and cracked a solo homer to left-center field on a 2-1 count.
