Joel Quenneville Resigns From Florida Panthers

Florida Panthers head coach Joel Quenneville has resigned. It is due the sexual abuse incident involving a Chicago Blackhawks player as a victim that occurred during the 2009-10 NHL season. The Blackhawks eventually won their first of three Stanley Cups that June.
Quenneville had coached the Florida Panthers for the past three seasons and guided them to two straight postseason appearances. The club began the 2021-22 regular season with their best start in franchise history winning seven consecutive games.
Andrew Brunette is expected to be named the interim head coach of the club. He has been an assistant coach of the Florida Panthers since the 2019-20 season.
