The Miami Heat played their final game of the 2017-18 regular season as they beat the Toronto Raptors 116-109 on Wednesday night at American Airlines Arena. The Heat already clinched a playoff spot last week and will play their opening game in the first round on the road against the Philadelphia 76ers. The Raptors captured the Atlantic Division title earlier last week and are the top seed in the Eastern Conference.
Miami(44-38) gave up the first five points of the contest and then went on a 9-3 spurt. Toronto(59-23) led 29-27 after the first quarter and were up 53-47 at halftime. The Heat trailed 78-71 after three quarters and the game was tied 105-105 to end regulation. Miami outscored Toronto 11-4 in overtime for the win.
Wayne Ellington came off the bench for Miami and had a game-high 32 points. Seven other players for the Heat scored at least 10 points in the contest. Kyle Lowry fell short of a triple-double for the Raptors with 28 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists.
