Jason Pugh returned as a fill-in sports anchor on WPTV-TV Channel 5 and WFLX-TV Channel 29 in West Palm Beach last month. He is filling in while their main sports anchor Keli Ferguson is out on maternity leave.
Pugh, a Florida Atlantic University grad, first got into broadcasting as an intern with ESPN Radio 760 WEFL-AM in 2003. He became a producer in 2006 and an on-air contributor in 2007. He was promoted to evening co-host with Jeremy Marks-Peltz in 2010 and also announced high school football games as a game analyst with Ken LaVicka and Marks-Peltz through 2011. Pugh was elevated to a game analyst role for Florida Atlantic University football games and held that spot until the end of the 2012 season.
He added duties as a sports anchor at WPTV and WFLX in the early 2010s. He left both of his West Palm Beach positions in radio and television in December 2012.
Pugh joined WRC-TV in Washington D.C. as a sports anchor and sports reporter in December 2012. He would stay in that role until December 2016.
