The Miami Marlins got a 7-2 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates at Marlins Park on Friday night. The Marlins were able to snap a three-game losing streak.
Miami(4-9) scored the first run in the bottom of the second. J.B. Schuck crossed the plate when Chad Kuhl threw a wild pitch.
Pittburgh(9-4) took the lead in the top of the fifth inning. Elias Diaz socked a two-run homer to left field with Corey Dickenson scoring in front of him. It would be their only runs of the contest.
The Marlins answered back in the bottom of the frame. Starlin Castro knocked in Dillon Peters with a sacrifice fly to right field. Derek Dietrich and Miguel Rojas would later score on a throwing error by Diaz.
The Fish put up three more runs in the next two innings. Chad Wallach drove in Schuck on a sacrifice fly to shallow right field in the sixth. Justin Bour blasted a two-run homer to right field on a 2-1 count in the seventh inning to score Castro and make it 7-2.
