The American Heritage Stallions visit the Glades Central Raiders in Belle Glade at Effie C. Grear Field on Friday night. The Raiders broke a five-game losing streak to the Stallions in 2017. Both schools are in contention to make the FHSAA playoffs in their own classifications.
American Heritage(5-2) has played a schedule in which all of their opponents are based outside of Palm Beach County. The Stallions have put on a ton of miles to get to their last four games over the past four weeks which included stops in Fort Lauderdale, Pensacola, Davie and Fort Myers. They began the regular season 5-0 before losses to University School and Bishop Verot.
Running back Steve Barrett transferred from Glades Central during the summer and will face his former school. He and Dallis Small look to pour on a rushing attack against the Raiders defense. Zachary Bohannon steps in as quarterback for the Stallions and can connect passes to wide receivers Conner Hindsley, Winston Hill, Fredrick Cage, Deion Small and Jamal Potts.
Glades Central(4-3) finally won two straight games for the first time this year. They hope to keep the momentum up toward the Muck Bowl in two weeks. They have outscored their last two opponents 72-13.
Quarterback Davius Richard will call the signals for the Raiders on offense. He intends to find wide receivers Jymetre Hester, Ja'Vontae Williams, Densa Washington and Odieu Hilaire for completions. Running back Jaheim Humphries is expected to get the bulk of the rushing attempts from the backfield for them.
