Boca Raton quarterback Michael Pratt compiled four touchdown runs as the Bobcats shut out the John I. Leonard Lancers 41-0 in Greenacres on Thursday night. Both District 10 schools in Class 8A look to finish up the regular season.
Boca Raton(5-4, 3-2) scored on the first play of the contest. Lamar Dollar caught the ball, delayed for several seconds and then ran down the left sideline for an 86-yard kickoff return just 17 seconds in.
The Bobcats reached the end zone on their second possession. Running back Stalens Demeus went through the right side of the side from five yards out for a touchdown at the 7:07 mark.
John I. Leonard(1-7, 1-4) quarterback Jadiel Cruz threw an interception to the left side and Dollar brought it back 24 yards to the Lancers 10-yard line. Two plays later, Pratt raced through the middle and scored from 10 yards away at 3:02 for a 21-0 lead.
There would be one more score by the Bobcats before the end of the first half. Pratt busted into the end zone and scored a one-yard touchdown with 8.4 seconds left in the second quarter.
The Lancers began the second half horribly as they fumbled the ball on the kickoff. On their second possession of the third quarter, a lateral pass to the right side on their first play was recovered by Boca Raton. The Bobcats scored on the second play of their drive at 10:05 as Pratt sprinted through the middle of the field from 24 yards out to make it 34-0.
John I. Leonard then fumbled the ball away after a short gain just one minute later. Boca Raton made them pay on the next play when Pratt ran into the end zone untouched from 31 yards out with 8:42 to go in the third. A running clock was then used for the remainder of the game because to the 41-point margin.
