There was a tie for the top sports talk format station in the Miami/Fort Lauderdale region. Miami Sports Radio 560 WQAM-AM finished alone on top in the previous two periods.
WQAM moved up from a 0.8 to a 0.9 in the period. The great start by the Miami Dolphins to begin the regular season certainly did entice the audience along with how the Miami Hurricanes have played.
Sports Talk 790 The Ticket WAXY-AM finally halted a three-month drop in the ratings as they rose from a 0.6 to a 0.9 in the month. The station had local game broadcasts on the air for the first time in three months with FIU football.
Miami Sports 940 WINZ-AM remained at a 0.2 for the second straight month. The station continues with one local show hosted by Jeff DeForest in morning drive and Fox Sports Radio around the clock.
640 The Hurricane WMEN-AM once again appeared in the ratings even though they are based in Palm Beach County. They finished again with a 0.1 this month.
