The American Heritage Stallions head down from Delray Beach and challenge the University School Sharks in Davie on Friday night at AutoNation Field. Both teams look to get into the FHSAA playoffs this season.
After a tough campaign last year, American Heritage(5-0) started their first five games victorious. The Stallions have outscored their opponents this season 191-80. They played their first three games at home and are currently on a five-game stretch on the road.
Quarterback Zachary Bohannon gets to control the Stallions offense. Running back Dallis Small can be elusive against big defenders on carries. Their other running back Steve Barrett, who transferred from Glades Central, lost twice to the Sharks last year in a regular season and postseason game. Wide receiver Conner Hindsley is the primary target for Bohannon in their passing attack.
University School(5-0) have blasted the opposition in every game this season and have outscored their opponents 257-32. They have not allowed a point in their last two games with shutouts over Village Academy and Monsignor Pace.
The Sharks had the majority of starters return from their squad last year on both sides of the ball. Running back Kenny McIntosh will get plenty of opportunities from the backfield along with their other running back Michael Hurt. Quarterback Nick Vattiato calls the signals and intends to find wide receivers Zay Flowers, Joshua Sanguinetti, Jordan Irizarry and Christian Wells down the field on passes.
