The Forest Hill Falcons handled the Olympic Heights Lions 34-6 at Bobby Riggs Stadium on Friday night in a District 13-7A game. The Falcons, who defeated the Lions by six points last year, bounced back from their loss last week to Dwyer.
Forest Hill(7-1, 3-1) was able to score on their first possession. Quarterback Darius McClendon faked an option to the right and sprinted down the right hash marks for a 20-yard touchdown at 9:40 of the first quarter. The Falcons increased their lead to 13-0 when running back Bry'yon Jones plunged in up the middle from one yard out at the 4:22 mark.
Olympic Heights(4-4, 2-3) had bad luck on numerous offensive plays. They were deep in Falcons territory late in the first quarter when defensive back Major Bernard intercepted a pass in the end zone. Lions quarterback Connor Hone threw a 77-yard touchdown pass down the right sideline to Jack Coulson which was negated due to a holding penalty three minutes into the second quarter.
The Lions had another touchdown pass to Coulson waved off because of a penalty less than two minutes into the third. They scored on their next play when running back Ricky Brown went around the left end and angled to the left sideline for a 36-yard touchdown run at 10:00 to make it 13-6.
It was a quick response by Forest Hill as they scored on their next possession. They added another touchdown by Jones from 15 yards out with 7:10 left. Falcons wing back Chaz Eaton reached the end zone on a run from nine yards away with 1:20 remaining in the third quarter for a 27-6 lead.
