San Francisco(14-8) compiled three runs in the second inning. Mauricio Dubon bunted in front of the plate for a single and Wilmer Flores crossed the plate. Logan Webb then tripled into the right-center field gap for Tommy La Stella and Dubon to score.
It became 4-0 for the Giants in the bottom of the fifth. Brandon Belt drove in Mike Yastrzemski with a sacrifice fly to left field.
Miami(9-12) tried to make comeback in the top of the eighth. Jesus Aguilar smashed a two-run homer to left-center field on a 1-0 pitch with Miguel Rojas aboard to make it 4-2. Aguilar knocked the ball over the fence for the third consecutive game.
In the ninth inning, the Marlins got only one run and fell short. Lewis Brinson singled to right field and Jon Berti scored with two out. The Fish left the tying run on second to finish the game.
