Boyd Anderson-St. Thomas Aquinas Preview

St. Thomas Aquinas are in the same position that they find themselves every two years as the Raiders will host a third-round game. They will play against the Boyd Anderson Cobras in a Class 7A regional final at Brian Piccolo Stadium in Fort Lauderdale on Friday night. The Raiders have make it to the FHSAA regional finals every year since 2004.
Boyd Anderson(9-2) has lived on the fourth quarter in both of their road playoff wins. They took Atlantic 13-7 at Delray Beach in the first round and beat Dwyer 6-3 in the second round at Palm Beach Gardens. They have responded well since last year after being stripped of the District 14-4A title during the final week of the regular season for using ineligible players.
The Cobras lost to the Raiders 47-7 in the Class 5A regional final two years ago on the same field. Eddie Jackson and Richard Lopez have been clutch with receptions down the stretch for their team while Gregory Hankerson is a duel threat as a runner and a passer.
St. Thomas Aquinas(10-2) have been dominant in the first two rounds of the playoffs with home victories over Miami Beach 42-7 and Plantation 38-7. The Raiders currently have a seven-game winning streak after beginning the regular season with a 3-2 record. They have outscored their opponents 178-14 in their last four games and 313-47 in their last seven.
Ohio State University commit Joey Bosa has led his team on defense as a nose tackle with continuous pressure on the opposing backfield. Fred Coppet will get the bulk of the carries on offense and Deltron Sands has recently been given a more significant role in the backfield. The Raiders have a slew of receivers that includes Mark Barr, Franklyn Richardson, Chandler Dorrell, Jonathan Boozer and Corey Holmes who John O'Korn can throw the ball to.
