West Palm Beach sportscaster Jason Pugh will leave the local airwaves next week for a job outside of South Florida. He is currently an evening co-host on ESPN Radio 760 WEFL-AM along with being a sports anchor/sports reporter for WPTV-TV Channel 5 and WFLX-TV Channel 29. He will become a sports reporter at WRC-TV Channel 4 in Washington D.C. in early December and will join former WPTV-TV sports anchor Dan Hellie on staff.
Pugh played college football with the Florida Atlantic University Owls for four years as a linebacker. He interned at ESPN 760 in 2003 when the station flipped to a sports talk format. He permanently joined the organization as a producer in 2006 and became an on-air contributor in 2007. Pugh was promoted to evening co-host with Jerermy Marks-Peltz in 2010 when the Evan Cohen Show was cut by one hour. He also was a game analyst on Palm Beach County high school football games with Ken LaVicka and Marks-Peltz through the 2011 season.
WPTV-TV made an agreement with ESPN 760 to use some of their staff as on-air personnel with Cohen and Pugh added as sportscasters on their newscasts. Pugh also held the football game analyst post on the Florida Atlantic University Radio Network for several years and will announce his final game on Saturday against Louisiana-Lafayette.
