Heat Ends Denver Drought

    Dwyane Wade did not play due to a sprained left foot as the Miami Heat picked up a 98-93 victory over the Denver Nuggets on Thursday night at Pepsi Center. The Heat, who entered the game with ten consecutive losses in Denver, last won there on January 29, 2002. Denver trailed throughout the entire game and only tied it up once at 8-8.
    Miami(7-3) jumped on the Nuggets with the first six points and an 8-2 start in the opening three minutes. They would have an eight-point margin after one quarter 28-20. Denver(4-5) fell behind by 12 points halfway through the second quarter and were down 54-42 at halftime.
    The Heat expanded to a 19-point lead 70-51 at 6:16 of the third quarter. They held a 79-66 margin after three quarters. The Nuggets cut the deficit down to one point 85-84 six minutes into the fourth quarter on a 18-6 spurt. It was a 33-15 run through the second half.
    LeBron James nailed another double-double with 27 points, 12 assists and seven rebounds in 42 minutes of play for Miami. Shane Battier added 18 points while Chris Bosh had 14 points. Mike Miller filled in for Wade and got 12 points. 
    Andre Miller contributed 19 points and JaVale McGee made 18 points coming off the Denver bench. Andre Iguodala popped in ten points and Kenneth Faried completed a double-double with 16 points and 20 rebounds.
