The University of Miami Hurricanes will impose a bowl ban on themselves for the second consecutive season. This will also include not being eligible for the ACC title game in Charlotte on December 1. Administrators at The U thought the actions of being self-imposed would have a good bearing on the upcoming sanctions to be decided by the NCAA.
The Canes are currently in second place with a 4-3 conference record in the Coastal Division. They are 1/2 game behind Georgia Tech in the standings with a conference game at Duke on Saturday. If Miami would win that game they would tie the Yellow Jackets for first place and win the division due to a head-to-head victory over Georgia Tech earlier this season at Sun Life Stadium.
