Panthers Rout Blue Jackets

Mason Marchment tied a franchise record with six points in one game as the Florida Panthers pounded the Columbus Blue Jackets 8-4 at Nationalwide Arena on Monday night. Marchment, who compiled two goals and four assists in the contest, tied the Panthers record set by Olli Jokinen back in 2007 against the New York Islanders.
The Cats scored 74 goals in January, which is the most goals by a National Hockey League team for a month in the last 25 seasons. The Panthers, who are 14-2-1 in their last 17 games, defeated the Blue Jackets 9-2 earlier this month. Florida(31-10-5) has one other road game against the New York Rangers tomorrow prior to the NHL All-Star Game break.
