Former local radio broadcaster Tony Marino has joined WBT-AM and WBT-FM in Charlotte. He will work as the morning news anchor for both radio stations.
Marino had several radio stints in South Florida. He had a long reign as a business talk host at Money Talk 740 WSBR-AM in Boca Raton. It led him to having a nationally syndicated radio talk show on Business Talk Radio Network. He also hosted a brokered business show on television called Wizetrade TV.
He got involved in other areas on the radio airwaves. Marino became a traffic anchor for Metro Networks in Miami. He did traffic reporting at Total Traffic Network Miami following the merger between both companies. Marino stepped in to work at Sports Radio 560 WQAM-AM as a weekend sports anchor in 2012.
Marino had an eight-year stint with Cox Media Group in Orlando from May 2013 until September 2021. He started at WDBO-FM as an afternoon news anchor and news reporter. He was the evening sports anchor at WDBO-AM when it had a sports talk format. The news format was shifted from WDBO-FM to WDBO-AM in June 2020. He became the evening news host and the afternoon news anchor and stayed there until September 2021.
He had other stops during his long radio career. Marino was the morning host on WNNR-AM in Jacksonville from 2002 to 2005. He also co-hosted a sports show with Michael Irvin there in 2005. Marino was once a news anchor and news reporter at KRLD-AM in Dallas.
