Reds Drive By Marlins

The Miami Marlins were overcome by the Cincinnati Reds 6-3 on Tuesday night at loanDepot park. The Marlins continued their four-game homestand. The Reds extended their winning streak to five games, which matched their season-high from last season.
Marlins starting pitcher Sandy Alcantara pitched a shutout through 8 1/3 innings tonight. He was credited with an earned run after he was replaced on the mound. Alcantara finished with a third-hit, complete game shutout during his first start on opening day.
Miami(6-5) had a 2-0 advantage in the bottom of the fourth. Otto Lopez grounded out to second for Agustin Ramirez to score. Heriberto Hernandez followed with a ground out to third and Jakob Marsee crossed the plate.
Cincinnati(8-3) broke up the shutout in the top of the ninth inning and tied it up 2-2. Sal Stewart hit a sacrifice fly to right field and Matt McLain scored. Marlins relief pitcher Anthony Bender threw a wild pitch two batters later and Elly De La Cruz reached home.
The Reds compiled four runs during the top of the 10th and led 6-2. Nathaniel Lowe drove in Spencer Steer on a base hit into left-center field for their first lead in the contest. Two batter later, McLain doubled off the left-field wall with the bases loaded which brought in Stephenson and Dane Myers. T.J. Friedl would then score on a ground out to third by De La Cruz to make it 6-2.
The Marlins could just muster one run in the bottom of the 10th. Graham Pauley grounded into a force out for Marsee to score.
