Dodgers Shocked By Marlins

The Miami Marlins defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers with a 3-2 victory on Wednesday at Dodger Stadium. The Marlins won two contests in a three-game series against the reigning two-time World Series champion Dodgers.
Miami(15-16) finished off a six-game road trip through California. The Fish will host former Marlins manager Don Mattingly and the Philadelphia Phillies on Friday.
The Marlins moved out to 1-0 lead in the top of the second. Liam Hicks hammered a solo home run to right field on the first pitch of the frame for his seventh homer of the 2026 campaign.
Los Angeles(20-11) matched it with one run in the bottom of the second to tie it up 1-1. Alex Call singled on an infield pop up and Max Muncy scored. Marlins shortstop Otto Lopez lost sight of the ball in the daylight while standing on the infield dirt.
In the eighth inning, Miami reclaimed the lead 2-1. Esteury Ruiz smacked a solo homer to left field on a 0-0 count. It was the ninth career home run for Ruiz.
The Dodgers were able to load the bases when Shohei Ohtani was intentionally walked with one out during the bottom of the ninth. Freddie Freeman grounded into an unassisted double play. Marlins second baseman Xavier Edwards tagged Ohtani and then stepped on first base before Freeman got there.
