Inter Miami CF Ties In Nu Stadium Debut

     Inter Miami CF tied Austin FC 2-2 at their new home venue Nu Stadium in Miami on Saturday night. The Herons played their first home contest in Dade County after hosting their home games at Inter Miami CF Stadium in Fort Lauderdale since their inaugural Major League Soccer season in 2020. Nu Stadium has a seating capacity of 26,700.
     In the first half, Austin FC(1-2-3) took a 1-0 lead in the sixth minute of play. Guillermo Biro was able to score for them. 
     Inter Miami CF(3-1-2) responded back quickly to tie the contest 1-1. Lionel Messi got the goal in the 10th minute for the Herons first goal in their new stadium. He put in a header from nine yards away into the top right corner of the cage. 
     Austin FC reclaimed the lead 2-1 during the 53rd minute. Jayden Nelson went in on a breakaway and rifled a right-footed shot from 18 yards out. 
     The Herons evened the contest up 2-2 late in the second half during the 82nd minute. Luis Suarez volleyed in a left-footed shot from two yards following a corner kick.
