Dusty May Wins National Championship

Former Florida Atlantic University men's basketball head coach Dusty May guided the University of Michigan Wolverines to the 2026 NCAA Division 1 National Championship with a 69-63 victory over the University of Connecticut Huskies on Monday night. May accomplished it during his second season with the school.
It was the second men's basketball national title for Michigan. They captured the national championship back in 1989 when one-time Miami Heat guard Glen Rice led the team. It was the first national title won by a Big Ten Conference school in 25 years.
May was the FAU head coach of the Owls from 2018-19 to 2023-24. He coached them in 2023 to the first appearance ever in the NCAA Final Four.
