The San Francisco Giants hurdled the Miami Marlins 6-3 at Oracle Park on Sunday. The Marlins will visit the two-time reigning World Series champions the Los Angeles Dodgers tomorrow to begin a three-game series.
Miami(13-15) leaped out to a 3-0 lead in the top of the second. Graham Pauley lifted a three-run homer to right field on a 0-2 count with Xavier Edwards and Liam Hicks aboard.
San Francisco(13-15) put up one run in the third inning and were down 3-1. Luis Arraez grounded into a force out for Jung Hoo Lee to reach home.
The Giants evened it up 3-3 in the bottom of the sixth. Rafael Devers doubled into the left-center field gap for Casey Schmitt to score. Two batters later, Drew Gilbert drove in Devers with a base hit through the left side.
In the seventh inning, San Francisco took a 6-3 lead. Schmitt smashed a three-run homer to left-center field on the first pitch for his fourth home run of the season. Lee and Matt Chapman scored in front him on the play.
