Inter Miami CF Outlasts Colorado

     Inter Miami CF broke the Colorado Rapids 3-2 in Empower Field at Mile High on Saturday. It was the first time that the Herons played a contest in Denver. Both teams met in Fort Lauderdale back in April 2024.
     Miami(4-1-3) rushed out to a 1-0 lead in the 18th minute of play. Lionel Messi scored on a penalty kick with his left foot through the middle of the cage.
      The Herons expanded their lead to 2-0 during stoppage time at the end of the first half. German Berterame was able to get the tally on a header from five yards away. 
     Colorado(4-4-0) rallied back early in the second half and tied it 2-2. Rafael Navarro scored during the 58th minute on a right-footed shot from 15 yards out. Darren Yapi found the net in the 62nd minute from 11 yards away with his left foot. 
      Inter Miami CF reclaimed the lead 3-2 in the 79th minute. Messi picked up his second goal of the contest when he drilled a left-footed shot from 14 yards.
