The Miami Heat breezed by the Charlotte Hornets 104-98 on Friday night. The Heat return home on Saturday and face the Los Angeles Clippers.
Miami(14-14) went on a 17-7 run and had a 24-19 lead after one quarter and maintained the lead 53-47 at halftime. Charlotte(10-18) remained behind 79-71 after three quarters and barely cut the deficit in the final quarter.
Wayne Ellington and Tyler Johnson both led the Heat with 16 points each while Dion Waiters drained 12 points. Josh Richardson, Kelly Olynyk and James Johnson all had 11 points each for the Miami. Kemba Walker had a team-high 25 points for Charlotte and Dwight Howard compiled a double-double with 15 points along with 16 rebounds.
