Panthers Fall To Hurricanes

     The Florida Panthers made a one-day trip to Carolina and lost to the Hurricanes in overtime 3-2 at PNC Arena on Saturday night. It was the second game for the Cats on back-to-back nights.
     The only goal of the first period was by Carolina(11-9-5). Elias Lindholm scored a power-play goal at 14:02 for a 1-0 lead.
     After no scoring in the second, Florida(10-13-3) evened it up at the 4:52 mark of the third period. Nick Bjugstad got his sixth goal of the season on assists from Aleksander Barkov and Jonathan Huberdeau.
     The Canes regained the lead on the power play at 8:17. Jeff Skinner compiled his 10th goal of the year on an assist from Derek Ryan.
     The Panthers put the game toward overtime on a goal with 1:56 left in the third. Barkov picked up his ninth tally of the season from the crease on assists from Vincent Trocheck and Aaron Ekblad.
     The Hurricanes got the game-winning goal in the final seconds in overtime. Noah Hanifan scored with only two seconds left in the extra session.
