Panthers Shut Out Senators

The Florida Panthers made a rare home appearance on the nationally televised Hockey Night In Canada as they blanked the Ottawa Senators 1-0 on Saturday night at BB&T Center. Florida extended their winning streak to a season-high three games while Ottawa(11-15-8) lost their third straight game.
The club will have five days off for the Christmas break before they take on the Philadelphia Flyers on Thursday. The Panthers will again appear on Hockey Night In Canada next Saturday as they host the Montreal Canadiens.
After no scoring in the first period, Florida(15-16-5) quickly scored in the second at 1:36. Nick Bjugstad connected a cross-ice pass from the right circle to the middle. Jonathan Huberdeau snapped a shot from the left circle past Mike Condon for his 12th goal of the season and a 1-0 lead. It was his third goal for the Cats in the last two games.
