The Miami Marlins fell to the Atlanta Braves 7-2 on Saturday night at Sun Trust Park. The Fish have lost the first two games of their road swing.
Miami(51-57) waited until the top of the sixth to take the lead 1-0. Giancarlo Stanton pounded his major league leading 36th home run of the season. It was a 1-1 pitch that went over the left-fence field.
Atlanta(51-58) responded in the bottom of the sixth. Freddie Freeman knocked in Ender Inciarte with a base hit into center field. Nick Markakis later drove in Freeman on a double into right-center field.
The Braves pulled away from their opponent with five runs in the seventh inning. Brandon Phillips placed a single to left field for Johan Camrago and Ozzie Albies to score. Freeman followed with a three-run homer to left field on a 3-1 count.
The Marlins garnered just one run for the remainder of the contest. Dee Gordon scored on a Stanton double into center field.
