The Miami Marlins needed 11 innings to defeat the San Diego Padres 2-1 on Saturday night at Marlins Park. The Fish have kept their momentum being victorious in 12 of their last 15 games.
San Diego(57-72) got their only run in the contest in an unusual fashion during the second inning. The Padres pulled off a double-steal as Cory Spangenberg stole home on the play.
In the fourth inning, Miami(65-63) was able to tie the game 1-1. Marcell Ozuna smashed a solo home run to center field on a 0-2 pitch.
The contest was decided in the bottom of the 11th. Miguel Rojas drove in Derek Dietrich with a sacrifice fly to right for the Marlins winning run.
