Former Florida Panthers beat writer Michael Russo is leaving his position as the Minnesota Wild beat reporter at the Star Tribune. He has held that position with the newspaper since September 2005.
Russo once was the Panthers beat reporter with the Fort Lauderdale Sun-Sentinel and later the South Florida Sun-Sentinel. He replaced Ray Murray at that post prior to the 1996-97 season and stayed there through the 2004-05 lockout season. Russo left for Minnesota and was replaced by Steve Gorten.
