The Miami Marlins avoided a three-game sweep with a 4-1 win over the Atlanta Braves at Sun Trust Park on Sunday. The Fish next travel to Washington D.C. and face the National League East leader Nationals.
Miami(52-57) rocketed out to a 4-0 lead in the first inning. Marcell Ozuna blasted a three-run homer to left-center field on a 1-2 pitch for his 26th home run of the season. Giancarlo Stanton and Christian Yelich scored in front of him.
The Marlins continued the quick start on their next at-bat. J.T. Realmuto connected with a solo home run to left field on a 0-1 count.
Atlanta(51-59) broke the shutout during the bottom of the sixth. Ender Inciarte knocked in Jace Peterson with a single into center field.
