The Dwyer Panthers challenge the Park Vista Cobras in a non-district game on Friday night at GL Homes Stadium. Both schools look to return to the FHSAA postseason this year following undefeated 2016 regular seasons.
Dwyer won the District 13 title last season and fell to the eventual Class 7A state champion St. Thomas Aquinas in a regional semifinal. The Panthers look to continue their recent success, three district titles in the last four years, with numerous changes on both sides of the ball. Cedric Tucker moves up to the starting running back position.
Park Vista captured the District 10 title in Class 8A last year and were upset at home by Palm Beach Gardens in the regional quarterfinal. The Cobras have offensive weapons with quarterback John Smith and wide receiver Atorian Perry.
