The Miami Marlins returned home and were defeated by the Philadelphia Phillies 3-2 at Marlins Park on Thursday night. The Marlins lost their fourth consecutive game.
In the second inning, Miami(66-67) took the lead. Miguel Rojas grounded out to short for Marcell Ozuna to score.
Philadelphia(50-83) struck back with three runs in the fourth inning. Pedro Florimon knocked in Daniel Nava with a base hit into center field. Two batters later, the Phillies went ahead 3-2 as Ben Lively drove in Maikel Franco and Florimon on a single to center.
The Marlins could only muster one more run in the bottom of the fifth. Christian Yelich doubled to left field and Dee Gordon crossed the plate.
